  • JdbcTemplate vs SqlUpdate Performance

I am updating a database, one row at a time. I am inserting a new time into a single column, hence the update is very simple. The volume of updates is quite high.

Which has better performance JdbcTemplate or SqlUpdate?

Personally I would use JdbcTemplate with aggressive batching. Look at the batchUpdate() methods.

Would you still use it if it is not a batch update? These updates are made from multiple threads to maintain state. Example: I am done with this task, log it.
