  • spring, hibernate, oracle pl sql and passing arrays

    Hi

    I am looking for help.

We are using the Spring Framework and Hibernate 3.1. I need to call an Oracle stored procedure that accepts an array.

My first problem or question is

Can Oracle or hibernate accept an array of java custom objects and how do we map these

I have an object that has 4 instance variables of type String,String,String, int.

I want to pass an array of these objects to the stored procedure.

I know that hibernate accepts stored procedure calls. How do represent this structure in the hbm.xml file.

Will hibernate then map the ref-cursor which i am expecting back to a pojo even though I am just calling a stored procedure.

I am told by my superiors that I cannot just call the stored proc directly from spring. They also want it to go through the hibernate layer.

Is this custom practice? Has anyone else ran into problems with this

I would appreciate some custom code or even just a pointer in the correct direction.

    Regards
    Canyaegbu
