  • JPA Logging

    An aside question not specifically related to JPA but to the logging within...

    It seems that I have to enable TRACE level logging in log4j in order to see the DEBUG JPA statements that relate to the JpaTransactionManager!?!?

    So in config:

    Code:
     <category name="org.springframework">
         <priority value="TRACE" />
         <appender-ref ref="MY_SPRING_FRAMEWORK"/>
       </category>

    Anyone know why this is??

    With priority value = DEBUG I only see JpaTemplate output.

    When you say JPA logging statements, are you talking about the actual SQL that's generated?

      ...

      No, I'm talking about the work flow through the various transactional proxies etc. Such as create/begin/commitTransaction...

      Actually this level of info has just stopped outputing when I redeployed with a tiny change not related to the code... (hmmm... )

        Ok, if you look at the code for JpaTransactionManager all the logging is at debug. Not really sure what's going on in your configuration.

          hmmm

          Cheers for the reply. Something very strange going on. Logging was changed to TRACE then the output I wanted appeared.... then it stopped. Changed level to DEBUG and tx output started again...
