  • Transaction Management over 2 different data sources

I am rewriting a legacy application using the spring framework. The legacy database is a c-isam cobol filesystem with a somewhat working JDBC driver (It accepts only one connection for the whole session for example).

I have followed prior advises and use SingleConnectionDataSource and ibatis as the SqlMapper.

I have also added a second dataSource (to a postgres database right now) which will be updated in tandem with the legacy datastore until the whole application is rewritten.

    Here are my questions.

Can Spring transaction framework manages those 2 dataSources?

Can I mix hibernate DAO with iBatis?

How should I handle writting to the 2 data sources at the same time?

    Thanks in advance

    Pascal
