  • JDBC interface Business Objects and Logic

I am rewriting a legacy application using spring framework. It helped me a lot in separating better all the different layer of the application.

However I have a question. Most of the end-user tools (like OpenOffice for example) interface with the dataset over JDBC.

Is there a JDBC driver that will interface to my business objects and logic instead of my datastores? What are you using to expose your business logic layout to the end-users?

I've never tried to do this but it seems you could either write an adapter for the application (yuck), use Stored Procedures, or dissallow most updates from something that is not integrated with your application logic.[/list]
