  • Stardog and Spring support - more Semantic Web capability

    Hi All,

I wanted to let the Spring community know that there is another product out there with Spring support, and that is Clark&Parsia's new RDF database, Stardog. The Spring support is a collection of Spring aware beans that provide a consistent set of capabilities for RDF and SPARQL similar to existing JDBC and SQL capabilities in Spring. There is a DataSourceFactoryBean, DataSource bean, SnarlTemplate (similar to JdbcTemplate) and a data importer for helping you to bootstrap your RDF data with Spring.

There will be more to come, including Spring Batch support, and other integration with the Spring Data. This was another precursor / learning opportunity before implementing the Spring-data-mapping project with Jena that I had previously discussed on this forum.

Here is an introduction to it:

    The official docs are here:
    http://stardog.com/docs/spring/

The code is open source, Apache 2.0 license, and availble for download. Similar to other open source databases, C&P mention there will be a community style edition and enterprise edition. For now you do have to sign up to get early access.

    Best Regards,
    Al Baker
