  • How does ApplicationContext become WebApplicationContext

    Just curious,

If I load my application context using the ContextLoaderServlet, how does the ApplicationContext become a WebApplication context? When does it bind to the servlet context?

If I were using EJB's, how would the ApplicationContext be available? Would it be bound to the JNDI tree?

    Regards,

    Josh

You define your contextLoaderServlet/Listener inside your web.xml - it will bind your context at startup. If you want to know the exact details check out the sources and javadocs.

As for EJB I haven't used it but I'm pretty sure you can find something inside the reference docs or the Spring samples.
