  • access the original AppContext

    I would like to access the app context instance that is created by the ContextLoadListener. I know it is possible. Because, the dispatcher servlet does this. If you have your servlet specified as such:
    Code:
     <servlet>
                    <servlet-name>springDispatcherServlet</servlet-name>
                    <servlet-class>org.springframework.web.servlet.DispatcherServlet</servlet-class>
                    <init-param>
                            <param-name>contextConfigLocation</param-name>
                            <param-value></param-value><!-- Inherit from context created by listener -->
                    </init-param>

      </servlet>
    then the dispatcher servlet inherits the app context from the contextLoadListener. How do I access the contextLoadListeners app context myself?

    Have you looked at WebApplicationContextUtils?
