  • Setting properties in beans through system properties

Is there a way in Spring 1.1 to have spring the value of a property in a bean via a system property.

What we need is to be able to schedule quartz jobs and have the cron time be configured through a system property.

I have looked all over and haven't seen anything like this in the forums. I can't imagine that something as good as spring would not have this functionality.

    Thanks

    Checkout the PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer

Its a BeanPostProcessor that will make substitutions in your beans, and by default pulls values from the system properties if it can't find the property defined elsewhere.
