I have similar needs. I would like to use Spring for persisting application properties, which can be modified by running administrative section of application. Spring context file is pretty sufficient to hold different kinds of settings. Problem is that the save function is missing. In case that you have a good suggestion on component, which can be handy instead of Spring I am more then open to hear it.
