  • Multiple data-tier modules

    Hi all,

I am designing a system that uses multiple data-tier modules. It is using spring JPA with annotation based transaction support. What I am struggling with is should these beans all be loaded in the same spring context? I come from an ejb world, in that paradigm these modules would be different deployments and there would be references between the deployments. What is the best practice for this in spring? What would be nice is that each of these modules would have a their own spring context and "export" a list of beans that are visible to other modules or the web-application. The separation of contexts would be nice to hide transaction management and entity manager injection from module to module.

Am I creating a problem where there isn't one?

    My Environment:
    Spring 2.0.6
    Hibernate 3.2.GA

    Thanks,
