  • No getBeanClass on BeanDefinition interface

I wonder why there is no getBeanClass method on the BeanDefinition interface. I see Juergen's comment on the fact that it is intended to be minimalist. But now with the advent of custom schema I find myself dealing with this interface and wishing that it had getBeanClass.

As the only direct implementation that I can see, AbstractBeanDefinition, has this method, I wonder if it would be possible to add this method to the interface in Spring 2.0?

For your situation, the best 'solution' is to raise an issue on JIRA. This way the core developer can take note of your suggestion and give you an 'official' answer.
