  • Caching data generated by spring business tier bean?

I have a bean that pulls data from various underlying DAO sources and applies a series of complex calculations and transformations. The bean returns the data to the UI tier. To avoid un-necessary calculations I'd like to cache the results somewhere. Does Spring provide any facilities to support this?

If the data is small and number of objects to store in memory is small number, then you can use Map (with key and its object). Otherwise, you can consider using the ehCache.

It's not small - think of an aggregated complex object that owns a matrix of 100 x 20 subordinate objects.

I'm looking to cache this aggregated result object, but the cache object has to be removed if any contributing data changes. As there are many of these indirect links to the aggregated results its almost link a dependency network. Any suggestions?
