  • About the running time of a job and a step

    I found it needs about 35 seconds to launch a job and about 20 seconds to switch from one step to another step. Can the overhead here be decreased?

    I test the time by using an tasklet which do nothing.
    <job id="initialJob">
    <step id="Step1">
    <tasklet ref = "testTasklet">

    </tasklet>
    </step>
    </job>

    Furthermore, I use spring batch to read data from one database table and after some process and filtering then save them in a new database table.
    I use JDBCCursorItemReader as reader and use JDBCTemplate batch update to doing the job of output. But I found it using much more time then using just sql expression. Is it a right phenomenon? I 'm new in Spring Batch, and I think maybe I don't use it in the correct way.
