  • Job doesen't fit reader/writer process..what to do?

    Hi,

    What options do I have if I have one job that doesn't really fit reader/writer paradigm? I need to call a service and log the results but that is it. I don't deal with individual items in this case.

    Thanks,
    Barry

    Use a vanilla Tasklet. You do not have to use a chunk

      Code:

      @Component("customTasklet")
      public class CustomTaskLet implements Tasklet {

      public RepeatStatus execute(final StepContribution contribution, final ChunkContext chunkContext){
      .................................................................
      ..........................DO STUFF.................................

      return RepeatStatus.FINISHED;
      }

      }

      <batch:step id="exampleStep">
      			<batch:tasklet ref="customTasklet" />
      </batch:step>

        Thanks... I used a tasklet. I missed this when going through the documentation. It was exactly what I needed.
