  • Is Spring Batch appropriate for my use case?

I'm evaluating batch processing options and wanted to check with the Spring community if Spring Batch fits my needs. Apache Pipeline is fitting but seems to be a dead project...

I need to run ~50 docs/sec through a series of ~10 simple steps in my pipeline. From what I've read Spring Batch uses a database to back the job repository. Is this required for the steps to run? I essentially don't need/want the dependency on a database.

You can run spring batch without using database backed job repository. Take a look at the MapJobRepositoryFactoryBean class.
    Javadoc is here
