Trying to run an Integration Test with Junit4.8 and Spring 3.0, I get the java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.aopalliance.intercept.MethodInterceptor,
with spring libraries 2.5.6 it works without problems

I have ensured that the aopalliance.jar is in my buildpath, but it is still not found

does anyone have an idea what the problem could be?

You need to add aopalliance jar in your classpath. You can download it from (besides a few other places):
    http://www.springsource.com/reposito...&version=1.0.0
