  • Configure spring actionscript with Flash CS3

I had some problems setting up my working environment to combine spring & Flash CS3 so I thought it would be a good idea to share it with the community.

To include the spring library into my flash project, I unzipped the spring-actionscript.swc file and tried to load it at runtime into the time-line as a normal swf (check out this tutorial). Inside the flash IDE, everything worked fine. I was able to create and load my “beans” from the application-context file. The problem started
when I tried to test my project inside a browser. The library got loaded correctly but the 'Event.COMPLETE' never got fired (and it was no IO or security issue).

Instead of loading the swc file, it works better if you load the spring actionscript classes directly. You will also need to include the as3reflect classes package into your root directory. After this change, I was able to load all my beans correctly.

I wrote a simple post (in spanish) with some code examples on my blog.
