  • petClinic source code, spring rcp future

    Hello Springmates,
I have been trying to find spring rcp petClinic source code for better understanding this framework. Does anyone know a link or have the source?

And let me one more question. Do you have any information about this framework future. As I could read in previous threads some people suppose it to be dead, another think otherwise. I like this framework and right now we are looking for some java desktop framework in our company. I would appreciate your help very much.

    Thank you all, Tomas

Let's face it. This RCP is dead. It is also unusable bad documented and doens't work with Spring 3. I can't recommend using it, though I like the idea and I like Spring as well.

You can't even find ANY JavaDoc on the main page... you have to google for it and hope, that it's for the right version.

I'm using it just fine. I find it easier to use by far than Eclipse or Netbeans RCP's. I will grant you that the documentation is incomplete, but I find the project far from unusable. It's true it also doesn't work with spring 3. I am currently using spring 2.5.6 with my RCP client and spring 3 on my application server though, and if I remember correctly I saw someone in the forums saying there is only like one class dependency or something stopping the RCP from being able to work with spring 3. I'll look into this later, to see for myself what it will take to make it work with spring 3.

Here is some of the most recent documentation:

        http://spring-rich-c.sourceforge.net...ocs/index.html
        http://www.core-dump.ch/stuff/spring...ual/index.html

As for the documentation being on the "main-page", if you are referring to the spring offcial website, this project is not an official spring project:

I would agree with adamarmistead on this; the project is a huge step forward for Java UI design, in my opinion.

You can always try Bluebell, we are working hard on releasing the first stable version before the end of 2010.

Anyway you can find useful the current HEAD version.

              Bluebell

Had a look at Bluebell and it looks cool. Great work! Shame there is no activity on Spring RCP.

                  Thanks indeed!

Release 0.1 is coming up, http://jirabluebell.b2b2000.com/brow...rversion/10000

Includes a lot of bug fixes (really more than reported...) and performance improvements! As profiler and test cases demonstrate (i.e.: TestStressOnAbstractBbTableMasterForm or
                  TestBbDispatcherForm)
