  • spring-richclient-archetype does not exist

    Hello,

if I try the following command, I get an error, that the archetype was not found:

    command:
    mvn archetype:create -DarchetypeGroupId=org.springframework.richclient -DarchetypeArtifactId=spring-richclient-archetype -DarchetypeVersion=0.2.0-SNAPSHOT

    [ERROR] BUILD ERROR
    [INFO] ------------------------------------------------------------------------
    [INFO] Failed to resolve artifact.

    GroupId: org.springframework.richclient
    ArtifactId: spring-richclient-archetype
    Version: 0.2.0-SNAPSHOT

Reason: Unable to download the artifact from any repository

Try downloading the file manually from the project website.

Then, install it using the command:
    mvn install:install-file -DgroupId=org.springframework.richclient -DartifactId=spring-richclient-archetype \
    -Dversion=0.2.0-SNAPSHOT -Dpackaging=jar -Dfile=/path/to/file

    org.springframework.richclient:spring-richclient-archetype:jar:0.2.0-SNAPSHOT

    from the specified remote repositories:
    central (http://repo1.maven.org/maven2)

I've looked on the site http://repo1.maven.org/maven2, but there is no spring-richclient-archetype. Also I've looked on the site: http://spring-rich-c.sourceforge.net...ype/index.html, but this site doesn't exist. What's wrong? Is this my failure?

    regards
    divo

Have you done a "mvn install" in the top level project? This is required to build the archetype and install it for use.

      Hi Larry,

yes, of course, I have done mvt install. The Software was downloaded from cvs during install and compiled succesfull. But if I want to create an empty project with the archetype, mvt couldn't fount it. So I have searched manually and have also found nothing. Follow the links, also the one on the projectside, there isn't any archetype.

      regards
      Dieter

Ok, so after you do a "mvn install" take a look in your local repository. Do you see this directory:

        org/springframework/richclient/spring-richclient-archetype/0.2.0-SNAPSHOT

If not, then something went wrong in your install.

        Larry.
