  • Dynamic Destinations for MessageListenerContainer?

    Hey, Folks!

We're implementing an event notification system for our client/server application using Spring JMS MDP's. When clients perform certain actions, they can register interest in a particular topic, using on-demand message listener containers and custom message selectors. As a volume-management strategy, we're looking at the possibility of using multiple destinations.

The hitch is that our client application is OSGi-based, and the Spring JMS components reside in one of our core library bundles. Our application bundles, which contain the actions and entities which will determine the target destinations, are deployed after these core bundles. Since the core library bundles can't know which application bundles will be deployed, we need a way to a) register the destinations dynamically as the application bundles load, and b) dynamically instantiate the actual message listener container beans with the correct destination.

Any thoughts on the best Spring approach to accomplish this? I appreciate any feedback you can provide.
