  • Hello!

Hi, I'm a first time poster and new to Spring. I've a few years in the industry making MVC based Java/JSP web apps that used a home made framework, and I'd like to use these skills to help out in the Spring community if possible

Can suggest to me the best way to get started with JIRA and some bug tracking, and maybe suggest a good IDE to use for checking out and perusing the Spring source code? I see there are many more projects than just the core Spring these days!

You're certainly welcome to register for an account on JIRA and file issues, preferably with a test case attached and detailed problem description OR feel free to file true issues on behalf of other folks who report real problems in the forum - a lot of times people aren't sure how to report an issue.

As far as IDEs, Eclipse or the Eclipse-based Spring Tool Suite are great, but really getting and understanding the code is more important than what IDE you use.

Best of luck, and I hope you have fun!
