  • Hibernate vs hibernate-core maven packages

    Hi,

    In our Maven project we are using:

    hibernate-entitymanager 3.3.2.GA

    which has a transitive dependency on:

    hibernate 3.2.6.GA

    But we also include a direct dependency on

    hibernate-core 3.3.2.GA

    Here is the actual excerpt from our pom:

    Code:
            <dependency>
                <groupId>org.hibernate</groupId>
                <artifactId>hibernate-core</artifactId>
                <version>3.3.2.GA</version>
            </dependency>
            <dependency>
                <groupId>org.hibernate</groupId>
                <artifactId>hibernate-entitymanager</artifactId>
                <version>3.3.2.GA</version>
            </dependency>

    It seems like the versioning is all screwed up. Also it seems with this setup we don't know which version of hibernate is being used.

    What is the difference between artifact ID "hibernate" and "hibernate-core"? And does the "hibernate" version numbers match up with the "hibernate-core" version numbers?
