  • MDBs and AbstractMessageDrivenBean

First, what benefit does AbstractMessageDrivenBean add over loading up your own context in your ejbCreate() method? Simply that you can specify the files in ejb-jar.xml instead of in the code directly? Or is there more to it?

Second, I think I was expecting to find in Spring something like a delegating proxy class so that my MDB wouldn't have to have any Spring-awareness at all. It appears this doesn't exist?

i.e. is there no way to inject properties into my MDB instead of having to explicitly ask the Spring context for named beans?

    Thanks,
    Doug
