  • Does Spring Lack Sufficient Support for Polymorphism?

I find it curious that one can search the Internet and find little that discusses support for polymorphism in Spring. Now, the type of polymorphism I am referring to is that accomplished at runtime.

Certainly I can inject a Factory, either via conventional means or through the use of autowiring, and allow that Factory to use the ApplicationContext to get the particular Bean I desire at run time. I just wish that Spring offered a simpler and less expensive method to accomplish this feat.

If you know of a suitable technique to implement polymorphism at run time, please share your knowledge.

P.S. Method Injection and its associated overhead is not considered a viable option.
