  • Struts/JSF - spring - hibernate

    Hi guys

    I created few apps using Struts/JSF - spring - hibernate.
    When using JSF I used conextawre class to locate my service beans in my backing beans.
    When using Struts I used a plug-in that integrates struts and spring then I injected my action beans with my service beans.

    What is the best approach to locate your services?

    Should I inject my beans to my struts actions / JSF backing beans??
    Or should I have some kind of manager/locator to locate my services?? (Seems like a good solution but seems like an added layer)

    p.s. I’m referring to 2 different applications one using JSF one using struts as the front end.

    Thanks

    I found this article quite useful regarding Struts and Spring integration.

    The last couple of projects I've seen used Recipe 3. I thought the separation looked quite nice.

      Thanks for the reply,

      Referring to the link;
      I used both recipes 2 and 3 in my applications that were using struts.

      I had similar implementation to recipe 1 when I was using JSF, I used contextAwere class and then got my beans from the context.

      I am looking to see if there is any thing else any body is doing, creating some middle manger that would mange my services, or something.......

      Thanks
