  • Making a Service accessible to remote batch app

    All,
I have a Java service running on computer A. I need to make this service accessible to a simple batch app (ie: no container, using a main()) running on computer B.

It looks like my options are:
    - remote EJB using AbstractStatelessSessionBean
    - remoting using HTTP invoker or RMI (not interested in Hessian or Burlap)

    Have I missed anything? Recommendations?

At this stage I'm leaning towards remote EJB, simply because we've done it this way before, although never using Spring.

Using JDK 1.3, Spring 1.2.8, EJB 2.0 (if required)

    Thanks,

    B2

Another option is to use Webservices. Spring has built-in support for exporting webservices as well.

    take a look at org.springframe.remoting.jaxrpc.*

    HTH.
