  • CPU profiling with JVisualvm

    Hi,
CPU-Profiling with JVisualvm doesn't seem to work, at least not out of the box for RC-1.

I see the following in my trace log:
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/netbeans/lib/profiler/server/ProfilerRuntimeCPUFullInstr

I can imagine that this is related to OSGi classloading issues, is there a workaround?

    Regards
    Henrik

    CPU profiling with JVisualvm

    Hi Henrik,

You should be able to resolve this problem by modifying the java5-platform.profile or java6-platform.profile (as appropriate for the level of Java which you're using) found in the Platform's lib directory and adding the JVisualVM package(s) to the list under the org.osgi.framework.bootdelegation key. Something like org.netbeans.lib.profiler.* should be a reasonable starting point.

    Regards,
    Andy
