  • Change logging level @ runtime

Is there a way to change the logging level for a particular bundle and/or class at runtime?

I tried altering the platform.config setting but that didn't seem to have any effect. I don't
see anything obvious in the Admin Console that will allow me to change levels either.

    Change logging level @ runtime

    Hi Ward,

The Platform does not currently support runtime changes to its global configuration.

One option that you do have here is to configure the trace levels via your application / bundle's manifest using the Application-TraceLevels manifest header: http://static.springsource.com/projects/applicationplatform/1.0.x/user-guide/html/ch05s02.html#per-application-trace. Redeploying your application with an updated manifest will cause the Platform to reconfigure the trace configuration for the application without requiring a restart of the Platform.

    Hope this helps.

    Andy.

If you're using log4j http://nelz.net/roller/nelz/entry/log4j_runtime_configuration might be interesting for you as well (added to your WAR / Web Module that might make your bundle easily changeable concerning logging level at runtime).
