  • maven par plugin

    I was looking for a maven-par-plugin but was not able to find one.
    The available links are no longer active.

    What are you using to create a par archive ???

    maven par plugin

    I'm not sure what PAR's might have existed in the past, but at this point SpringSource has not released any plugins for any build system with respect to PARs. We do plan on doing that, but it will be in the future. Remember that a PAR is a JAR of JARs so you might be able to create this plugin pretty easily on your own.

      maven par plugin

      I have finished a maven-par-plugin just two days ago. Leave a note if someone would like to use it (merely a snapshot release) then I would upload it to our repository.

        Yeah, I wouldn't mind playing with it.

          Also, what are you using for your manifest? Are you using the felix plugin like described in the DM-Modules documentation or are you using something like the DM sample which just specifies the MANIFEST.MF file?

            Nope .. we are not using felix.

            The plugin area of a pom would look like:
            <plugin>
            <groupId>org.apache.maven.plugins</groupId>
            <artifactId>maven-par-plugin</artifactId>
            <version>SNAPSHOT</version>
            <configuration>
            <fullyQualifiedName>true</fullyQualifiedName>
            <applicationSymbolicName>com.steademy.service.infr astructure</applicationSymbolicName>
            <applicationVersion>1.0.0</applicationVersion>
            <applicationDescription>The db infrastructure</applicationDescription>
            <applicationName>Application DB infrastructure</applicationName>
            </configuration>
            <executions>
            <execution>
            <id>par</id>
            <phase>install</phase>
            </execution>
            </executions>
            </plugin>

            For us there is no reason to use the felix plugin. We create the manifest from the configuration settings. The plugin works fine so far. I will verify it for a couple of days and upload it in conjuction with a small howto.

                I would also be interested in giving it a spin around the build block.
